100 word challenge - By Christian

Do you know why knights are so mysterious? They wear shimmering armour, but the horse wear dull clothes. Their jousting sticks are very sharp yet it’s uncommon for knights to get killed. The knights can see perfectly, however their helmets have tiny eye holes. The jousting sticks are massive, but the knights can lift them easily. It is very odd!

I think knights are absolutely amazing! Don’t you think that? I can imagine being in a jousting match just about to win the prize for my kingdom. There would be thousands of fans happily cheering me on. I would love to be a brave knight!

Pickpocket book trailers

After writing our pickpocket stories we decided we would create a trailer for each of them.

We watched some book and film trailers and decided that our trailer needed to include these things:

  • a rhetorical question
  • a use of numbers
  • a range of punctuation including an ellipsis and exclamation mark

Please check out our trailers below and leave us a comment!

Slow writing about Epic Citadel

On Friday we used a technique called slow writing. This involved writing only 6 sentences about Epic Citadel. The sentences had to be written like this:

1. This sentence must start with 'Imagine' and end in an exclamation make.
2. This sentence must include a conjunction.
3. This sentence must start with an adverb.
4. The sentence must include a power of three adjectives to describe.
5. This sentence can only be seven words long.
6. This sentence must be a question.

We then recorded our six sentences using images from the app. Please have a listen and leave a comment!

Our Epic journey begins...

We have began exploring the app 'Epic Citadel' this week.

We explored the castle, moat and grounds and using the app 'Word clouds' and 'Dictionary.com' to come up with some stunning adjectives to describe our exploration.

Here are some from Bartek, Alannah, Joe, Abi, Ben, Jacob, and Honey:

Easter egg maths hunt

During the last week on term Mr Santy's maths class did a maths Easter egg hunt. Hidden around the school ground, in different locations, were sets of QR codes and eggs! Each team had a map of the school and different grid references showing where the eggs were hidden. At each location their was a maths question relating to fractions, decimals or shape. Each team had to show co-operation and team work to succeed.

The winners were Christian, Jake and Liam. Well done!

Here is Ilana's elephant on display in Chapelfield shopping centre, Norwich. It is in a shop on the 1st floor near to H&M. Please go and see it.

I think you'll agree it looks superb, along with all the designs from our school on the walls of the shop!

Congratulations Ilana and well done to all those children who contributed to its design.

Litter pick in Roydon

All the children from our class took part in a litter pick today. We walked down 'Swamp Lane' into a forest area and back along the green searching for litter that had been dropped. We were happy to do our bit for our local environment and made sure we separated rubbish into recyclable and non-recyclable items.

Well done 5/4 Deer!
